No Time to Workout?

So, you find yourself often saying you don’t have any time in the day to workout.

I’ve also been here so I completely understand!

I used to put off workouts because I was too burnt out at my job but little did I know I was constantly moving and lifting throughout the day as a trainer and gym manager. But, since these weren’t considered a typical “workout” by our own standards we’ve placed on it, I didn’t think I had any extra time to workout.

When in reality, I was working out throughout the day.

I’ve been a fitness professional for 7 years and the common theme I see here is people’s idea of what a workout is. A workout can be so many different things, yet we have shrunk it down to a one-hour conventional workout in a gym or at home, but all together. It cannot be broken up throughout the day.

Well what if I told you that the movement you do throughout the day is beneficial and getting in a 20-30 minute workout is just as good.

Instead of thinking, “there’s no way I can commit an hour to training, that would just drain me with the schedule I have”, I encourage you to be okay with just doing half of the training or some of the training.

And if you have a physically taxing job, you are surely getting a good workout in throughout the day. Now if you have time, I encourage you do some mobility or strength training to help round out all body parts and muscles, but it doesn’t need to be hours in the gym giving maximal effort.

Every day and season of life is going to look different and you’ll be able to give different towards your workouts.

Don’t beat yourself up and work with what you can. It doesn’t have to be strenuous ever single time and quite frankly, it shouldn’t be.
